Winston Churchill: 6 Lessons I Learned From His Life

Winston ChurchillI had this photo taken underneath The Winston Churchill statue  about two weeks ago. I was in London celebrating my Girlfriends Birthday. We had a great time, I love London just for its culture and history. Its such a great place to be and so much variety of entertainment. and looking at the Winston Churchill statue, inspired me to look into this man’s life and find out what he was really like and I learnt some really great lessons about his character which we can all learn from and implement into our lives.

So who was Winston Churchill and why is he such an iconicWinston-Churchill figure in British history?

Winston Churchill is one of the most celebrated leaders of the 20th Century and perhaps the savior of democracy as we know it. Someone I would love to have met, I got to know Winston through articles, his speeches, and watching documentary s.

Inspirational even through words, Winston would have made a ferocious entrepreneur. His triumphs and tribulations through WWII are eerily similar to the struggles a founder and CEO goes through to build a successful company. I believe there is a lot to be learned from Winston on how to be a better leader, better human being and also a better family man.

I have always been a great believer that in order to be a great leader you need to study great leaders, and that means their habits, rituals, their attitude towards life, work and business and what how they look after their health (Maybe Winston Churchill isn’t the best example of this) but you get the point I’m trying to make. Leadership is the key to building you Network Marketing business or any business for that matter. If you want to be an entrepreneur you have to study and learn leadership and the only way you learn this is by associating with great leaders in your industry. How do you associate? Read books, attend events, network with business owners, but most importantly find great mentors, who you can follow closely and replicate what they do. So enjoy these lessons and apply them to your business…..

6 Lessons Everyone Can Learn From Winston Churchill

1. Look Ahead and Stay Focused – It is always wise to look ahead, but difficult to look further than you can see.” Churchill always looked ahead with whatever he was doing, its this ability to see the bigger picture, but also keeping laser targeted focused on his tasks which was the biggest lesson I took away from studying his life. If you have a dream or goal, you need to constantly look ahead, stay focused, but taking small steps each day which get you ever closer to that goal or dream.

2. Be Courageous and Aggressive –  Winston Churchill never allowed mistakes or criticism to get him down. Despite significant setbacks and embarrassments throughout his life, Churchill always got up and kept fighting, demonstrating both courage and aggression in his attitude to get the task done!

3. Don’t Lose Enthusiasm –  Winston Churchill” said: Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. Its easy to lose enthusiasm when you have a minor or even major set back, but what separates the average from the greats is to keep going and going without loss of enthusiasm.

4. Be Persistent and Work Hard – Churchill poured his all to everything he pursued, his work (politics, administration, writing books, speaking) or leisure (naps, champagne, humor). “He made mistakes, constantly, but he was never lazy with his work ethic.

5. Be Optimistic – A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” I like to think of myself as an optimist and with every new challenge comes its difficulties, but I always like to find the opportunity in those difficulties and Churchill did the same too.

6.Take Massive Action –  Winston Churchill knew that success requires massive, but more importantly consistent action. If I had to name just ONE reason why so many people fail to achieve their goals or get ahead in life it would be this: Failure to take MASSIVE action on a continual basis. Action alone will usually move you in the direction of your goals. But it’s not guaranteed. However, if you commit to taking serious, focused and MASSIVE action, you’re virtually guaranteed success.
