What Happens When A Kid Leaves Traditional Education?

Traditional Education

Is traditional education, teaching our kids all that they can be? What do you want to be when you grow up? Is a question kids have been asked lots of times, but do we really understand what this means?

This post is inspired by my friend Lee White who posted the video below this post on his Facebook Page.

Lee is a true inspiration of how I believe everyone should be living their life, just having fun and adventures, enjoying time with those who matter most and above all else making the most of our limited time on this planet.

I highly recommend you follow his journey on Facebook  >> The Audacious Adventures of Lee, Katie & Co. <<

Its too easy to get caught up in the cycle of work and the corporate lifestyle and forget what’s important and I think traditional education is putting to much pressure on our kids to follow that same cycle. What happened to actually being a kid, which means being creative, happy and enjoying life?

IsTraditional Education Allowing Kids To Develop Their Full Potential?

Here is what I think to this question, traditional education is obsolete, its outdated and it certainly can not keep up with the vast information that is available today on the internet.

Lots of kids today think they are not smart, they believe being smart or intelligence is something you are born with and something other kids are blessed with and they don’t get good grades so they think that they are dumb. So they think that there is no point in planning to go to college, university or pursue a career which can be fun and give their life’s fulfilment.

If you think your not smart or your kids think they are not intelligent, here is a big surprise…….. Most human beings are born just about as intelligent as everyone else. There are of course your exceptions like your genius’s of this world.

So what makes some kids shine more than others, well I believe its all down to their belief system and  focus, if kids believe they are confident, they will show that confidence.

So I believe if traditional education focussed on what kids really enjoyed and were good at and our kids were allowed to express that freely, this would allow them to become their full potential, instead the school system just suppresses kids with stuff that is either of no use to them or is of no interest. Now I’m not saying do away with Reading, Writing, Mathematics etc.. these are all important subjects, schools just need get to grips with what kids really want from life.

It is really important for kids to be happy, have fulfilment and be able to express themselves and grow into their full potential as human beings.

This Is What Happens When A Kid Leaves Traditional Education

Logan Laplante is a 13 year-old boy who was taken out of the education system to be home schooled instead. Not only was he home schooled, but Logan had the ability to tailor his education to his interests and also his style of learning, something traditional education does not offer. As Logan has mentioned, when he grows up he wants to be happy and healthy. At a TEDx talk in 2013, he discussed how hacking his education is helping him achieve that goal.

What do you guys think? I would love to know your thoughts! Did This Help You? If so, I would greatly appreciate if you commented below and shared on Facebook.
